Lunch in the Snow
Yesterday I ran (oh okay, I drove) downtown for my lunch. I thought I would get a nice walk in as it was a bright sunny day, and the new snow made it even lighter.

Problem encountered: The parking spaces hadn't been plowed out.

No problem, I think, as I pull into a space, squarely, and climb out and over the snow. (Pulling in squarely is key: gotta keep those wheels straight to keep from getting stuck.) Must be the city employees are on holiday too, and that means ... NO METER MAIDS!

Wrong. The parking places weren't plowed, but the meter maids were busily going up the main street. Now that's the holiday spirit!
